WHAT IS A OMBRÉ POWDER BROWS

Ombré Powder Brows is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that creates a soft, shaded gradient effect on the eyebrows. The technique involves using a small handheld device to apply tiny dots of pigment to the skin, gradually building up the color to achieve a natural-looking fade from light to dark. The resulting effect is a subtle, defined eyebrow look that enhances the natural shape of the eyebrows and flatters the face. Unlike microblading, which creates hair-like strokes on the skin, Ombré Powder Brows create a soft powdered effect, similar to the look achieved with makeup. This technique is ideal for those with sparse or thinning eyebrows, as it can create the illusion of fuller, more defined brows that require little to no daily maintenance.

The Benefits of Ombré Powder Brows by Rita's Beauty Line in Columbus, NC

Eyebrow grooming has become an essential part of the beauty routine for many people. However, not everyone is blessed with thick, shapely eyebrows. In recent years, Ombré Powder Brows and microblading have gained popularity as semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing techniques that can create fuller, defined eyebrows. In this article, we will explore the difference between these two techniques.

What are Ombré Powder Brows?

Ombré Powder Brows are a cosmetic tattooing technique that creates a soft, shaded gradient effect on the eyebrows. Unlike microblading, which creates hair-like strokes on the skin, Ombré Powder Brows use a handheld device to apply tiny dots of pigment to the skin, gradually building up the color to achieve a natural-looking fade from light to dark. The resulting effect is a subtle, defined eyebrow look that enhances the natural shape of the eyebrows and flatters the face.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that creates hair-like strokes on the skin to mimic the look of natural eyebrow hair. The technician uses a handheld tool with a series of fine needles to implant pigment into the skin. The result is a more defined and fuller eyebrow look.

What is the difference between Ombré Powder Brows and microblading?

While both techniques create a fuller and more defined eyebrow look, there are some key differences between Ombré Powder Brows and microblading.

  1. Technique: Ombré Powder Brows use a shading technique to create a soft, gradient effect, while microblading uses hair-like strokes to mimic the look of natural eyebrow hair.
  2. Appearance: The result of Ombré Powder Brows is a softer, more powdered look, while microblading creates a more defined and structured eyebrow appearance.
  3. Longevity: Ombré Powder Brows typically last longer than microblading, with results lasting up to two years, compared to microblading, which lasts around 12 to 18 months.
  4. Pain: Ombré Powder Brows tend to be less painful than microblading due to the shading technique used, which is less invasive than microblading.

Ombré Powder Brows and microblading are both popular techniques for achieving fuller, defined eyebrows. While both techniques have their benefits, there are some key differences in technique, appearance, longevity, and pain. Ultimately, the choice between the two techniques depends on individual preferences, facial features, and desired eyebrow appearance. Consult with a skilled technician at Rita's Beauty Line in Columbus, NC, to determine which technique is right for you.

  7. Avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot yoga, swimming pools, and other activities that may cause excessive sweating for one week following the procedure.
  8. Avoid alcohol and caffeine one day before the procedure to minimize any oozing, bleeding, or swelling.
  9. Do not take certain medications such as coumadin, aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, fish oil, or vitamin E three days prior to the procedure.
  10. Prior to the procedure, think about the look you wish to achieve and be prepared for multiple application sessions.

AFTER CARE

  1. The area treated may show redness and swelling and that the color looks dark and intense—this is quite normal.
  2. Additional treatments cannot be undertaken until the area has completely healed. A 4/6 weeks healing time is required before any more work can be undertaken.
  3. In order to let your brows heal well, avoid water on the brow area; make up to the brow area, the gym, sauna or pool for 7 days.
  4. Once the area has healed completely, approximately one week, consider using a waterproof total sunblock when going out in the sun to stop the color fading.
  5. Strong chemicals or glycolic acid/peels of any kind may cause the pigment to lighten. Always telephone and check with your consultant if in any doubt.
  6. Do not pick or pull at the treated area, as it will result in pigment loss. You will go through three healing phases: 1-healing, 2-peeling, and 3- fadeing.
  7. With clean hands and cotton pad apply a fine layer of aftercare balm to the treated area. Repeat this procedure up to 3 times a day if the area feels tight.
  8. After the fine scabbing has sloughed away you will see a different hue to the color implanted.
  9. MRI Scans- This procedure shows up as an artifact on the scan. Some clients may experience a tingling sensation. Please notify your radiologist.
  10. Injectable- Dermal fillers and Botox can alter the shape of the eyebrows. The client should be advised that injectable should be carried out after a Micorblading procedure and not prior.
  11. Laser/Pulsed Light- Laser or pulsed light hair removal or skin rejuvenation treatments can cause color change. It is important to advise the therapist that you have had Microblading procedure, as this cannot be rectified with another Microblading procedure.
  12. Color Refreshing- To keep your new brows looking at there best, it is recommended that you have a color refresh procedure every 1- 1 1/2 years to refresh in the color.
